Lived experience meets clinical mastery
Dr. Engelhardt was born with progressive hearing loss and was once Dr. Zeller's patient. Now he practices alongside her, so your care is shaped by clinicians who understand both sides of the journey.
For nearly fifty years, our Long Island audiologists have delivered expert care for hearing loss, tinnitus, and speech. One of us was born with hearing loss and has sat where you're sitting, so we understand the journey from both sides of the chair.

Care that is both clinically exceptional and personally understood. With hearing experts who have spent decades in the field, it's a rare combination you'll feel from your first visit.

Hearing aids, tinnitus and speech therapy under one roof. What you hear and how you communicate are treated as one connected story, not two separate referrals.
Real Ear Measurements, video otoscopy, and a follow-up rhythm that treats a hearing aid fitting as a beginning, not a transaction. You are never rushed.
Dr. Zeller has served this community as an audiologist, speech-language pathologist, and Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing since 1977. That kind of continuity matters.

Real Ear Measurement in progressEvery fitting includes Real Ear Measurement verification, the clinical standard that fewer than 30% of U.S. practices actually perform.
We measure pure-tone thresholds, speech understanding in noise, middle-ear function, and otoacoustic emissions. You'll leave knowing exactly where you stand and what, if anything, to do next, explained in plain language.
We use probe-microphone Real Ear Measurements to confirm that sound reaching your eardrum matches a validated prescription for your specific loss. Without REM, fittings are guesses. With it, you hear clearly the first time.
A structured tinnitus assessment to characterize pitch, loudness, and impact, followed by an honest conversation about sound therapy, masking, and counseling strategies that have real evidence behind them.
Reprogramming, dome changes, fresh filters, new battery doors. Most issues we resolve while you wait. Harder repairs we ship to the manufacturer with our notes attached, so you don't live with a device that isn't working.
Auditory processing testing identifies how the brain organizes and makes sense of sound, useful for children and adults who struggle to follow directions, understand speech in noise, or keep up in busy classrooms and conversations, even when standard hearing tests come back normal.
Led by Dr. Zeller (CCC-A/SLP), our speech services span articulation therapy for children, language intervention, voice rehabilitation, and aural rehabilitation for adults adjusting to hearing devices.
Our practice brings together something rare: nearly five decades of clinical leadership alongside an Audiologist who has lived the patient journey from the inside.

In practice since 1977. Dr. Zeller is one of a small cohort of clinicians trained across all three disciplines: audiology, speech-language pathology, and deaf education. She built this practice on the conviction that hearing and communication are one story, not two appointments.

Born with progressive hearing loss. Once Dr. Zeller's patient; now her colleague. Dr. Engelhardt brings something rare into the exam room: a clinician who has sat in the patient's chair for every evaluation, every fitting, every adjustment. He knows which questions you haven't asked yet.
What we're known for isn't a single device or test. It's a standard: honest answers, careful verification, and follow-up that stays with you for the long term. It's also why so much of our practice arrives by referral from physicians, schools, and patients themselves.

Dr. Andrew was absolutely fantastic. He explained all aspects of the testing and patiently answered all of my questions regarding the results of the exam. A true professional who truly cares about his patients.
When I needed hearing aids, I went to Sound Hearing Audiology and I immediately knew I was in the right place. Andrew fitted the hearing aids with such care and wanted to check them a week later to ensure they were working as intended. I am very happy with the service provided and I am hearing beautifully.
Robin Zeller and Andrew are professional and attentive. They spent the necessary time to diagnose any technical issues with my hearing aids. When I was first fitted for them, Andrew was an invaluable educator regarding care and electronic set-up. You could not find a more personal approach to audiology.
Andrew Engelhardt was very thorough in his explanations of all the testing and my results. He was very honest and not pushing to do more than was necessary. It was a great first experience and I would recommend him.
The audiologists are kind, patient, professional, and extremely helpful. They worked with my mom and made the process simple for her, which I appreciate. I would highly recommend them.
Dr. Andrew is absolutely the best. He took so much time to explain all the different hearing tests he was performing, with both professionalism and kindness. I highly recommend using his services for all your hearing needs!
